It all started along Beeman Road near Empire. This is a view of the spot where the driveway now meets the road, taken two days before I owned the land.
This is the view of the spot where the pole-barn-workshop now sits before anything was cut down. (early September).

This BIG Maple tree grew right out of the spot where my desk now sits. I would have loved to save it, but the way the land lay, it was smack in the middle of the ideal building location. Hopefully, I will make some good use of its logs! (which still grace the landscape!).
(2002-- pieces of the rotting trunk now grace the berm for my target range out
back...).
Here I am after the "pole foundation" passed the building inspection.

The lumberyard was happy to deliver all the pieces needed in the proper quantities, but this was NO Heathkit!

I did have some great friends help out!

That lunch that Big Al Snyder made will surely be in my memory forever! Polish sausages never tasted so good!

The building is now ready for the roofing.. conveniently (for the lumberyard) delivered at ground level in front! (under the blue tarp)

Now that the roof is on, let it rain, snow, sleet or hail! (and it did!) Notice the telephone wire draping through the trees on the right..
The finished workshop that I built (with the help of a few friends at times) back in '92-93
Here's one small view of one side of the electronics bench inside... pardon the mess!
Yup!... these photos are from October 95. The walls have been completely covered with OSB before the winter, and a stairway has been installed inside. The foundation work was done by Bob Choinard of BC Masonry. The rest of the building shell was constructed by Bill, Max, Kevin and Lee of Creative Concrete Construction, with additional help from Noel Darga and Matt Benjamin. Now the rest is left for dad and me! (with some more help from the aforementioned and others!).
