Photos from May 1997...

Here it is with the Tyvek house wrap applied and ready for the vinyl siding.

Putting the house wrap on was an interesting feat. We went around the house in a single piece and unwrapped the roll (9 foot wide) as we went.

Where a sheet was cut or ended you had to use a special plastic tape to seal off the end.

When you were done wrapping, you had to cut out holes for the windows and doors and then tape around the ends of the wrap. A good sharp razor blade was required!

John, Mat and JoAnn Benjamin applying the first pieces of siding to the north side.

JoAnn really was great at getting to the tough spots!

John and Matt now starting on the starter strip on the south side.

Before we put the siding on the south side, the deck attaching board and it's waterproof flashing needed to be installed and positioned.

The starter strip is critical to making the end result look "normal".

Mister Ed adding a few sections of siding to the west gable end wall. He is smiling as this is nearly the end of the siding job!

And there it is, the west wall siding completed!

Similarly, the deck on the day it was finished.

Bill and John on the new deck surveying the jobsite in preparation for the water trench work and the driveway expansion.

John, finishing up some of the siding on the south wall before the deck was assembled.

Here I am pondering some imponderables on the deck amidst construction of the guard railing.

Matt Benjamin was a super help with the siding and is relieved to see the end of the west wall work approaching.
